On October 2nd Dr Frances Fahy presented on “Ruptures and Routines, Energy Use in an Island Life” at the 2017 ERSCP conference in Greece. The ERSCP conference favours discussions about the key issues in sustainable consumption and production; the exchange of thoughts, knowledge, experiences and SCP proposals; and the creation of a European (also worldwide) community of research and practice in sustainable consumption and production.
Teams of ENERGISE researchers will host two sessions at the Sustainable Consumption Research and Action Initiative's conference in June 2018 in Copenhagen. The overarching theme of the conference is " Sustainable Consumption: Fostering Good Practices and Confronting the Challenges of the 21st Century".
Dr Frances Fahy and Dr Gary Goggins of NUI Galway will host three ENERGISE related sessions at the Association of American Geographers 2018 conference in New Orleans.
On October 26-27, 2017 at Sciences Po Bordeaux (France), Marlyne Sahakian and Laure Dobigny of the University of Geneva ENERGISE team presented some initial results in a workshop titled "Deconstructing Participatory Climate Governance: Innovation or Business as Usual?". The interest in the workshop demonstrates the growing focus on participatory governance when it comes to energy usage and related climate governance: over 130 papers were submitted, with some 24 guests selected to present papers and share in the discussions at this stimulating event.
Dr. Judith Igelsböck and Laura Zölzer, both working at the MCTS Post/Doc Lab Engineering Responsibly of the Technical University Munich, gathered an international group of social scientists, design researchers and a professor of digital media and performing arts in Munich for two-days to explore intervention as a mode of research. Entitled Prototyping Intervention!
Representing ENERGISE at the “Design Research for Connected Societies - Transforming the energy sector” workshop
On the 27th of October 2017, RISE Interactive and the Department of Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology jointly hosted a workshop during Dutch Design Week at the Designhuis in Eindhoven. The event sought to strengthen and grow a collaborative network that sets out to do nothing less than “changing the world” (Ambra Trotto, RISE Interactice, introductory talk).
The ENERGISE consortium together with the members of the Expert Panel plan and pre-test the Living Labs methodology for three days.
The Global Research Forum on Sustainable Production and Consumption (GRF) and SCORAI Europe will hosted the third International Conference on Sustainable Lifestyles, Livelihoods and the Circular Economy in Brighton, UK between 27-29 June, 2017. Many of the ENERGISE team members will be presenting and participating in this prestigious event.

The second consortium meeting was held in Dublin, Ireland on 1 and 2 June 2017 to discuss the tasks in progress and also to make further detailed plans for the upcoming work phases.
On the first day the distinguished members of our Expert Panel were also present and they were invited to learn more about the project sturcture and to actively participate in some hotly debated topic areas.
