Accelerating Condominium Energy Retrofitting

Accelerating Condominium Energy Retrofitting

ACE Retrofitting project, led by Energy Cities, supported by Maastricht University

Although many municipalities are taking climate action, most buildings in North West Europe are energy inefficient and in need of deep renovation. The ACE retrofitting project (http://www.nweurope.eu/projects/project-search/accelerating-condominium-energy-retrofitting-ace-retrofitting/) (North-West Europe Interreg) promotes a governance arrangement supporting stakeholders in addressing the legal, human and financial factors affecting decision-making processes around retrofitting condominiums. By targeting condominiums, a great number of private owners as well as financial and carbon savings can be reached most efficiently and effectively. CoachCopro, a free and proven-to-work collaborative tool developed by the Agence Parisienne du Climat, is central to this strategy and will be improved and adapted for use in other territories.

The project is led by Energy Cities (expert advisor to the ENERGISE project), and includes six local authorities (Aberdeen, Antwerp, Frankfurt, Liège, Paris and Maastricht) and knowledge partners from five different countries, including Maastricht University. It runs from 2016 through 2020.
