Nicole Rijkens-Klomp

Nicole Rijkens-Klomp (female) has a background in environmental science and specialised in participatory approaches and envisioning and future exploration processes over the past 20 years. She joined ICIS as research fellow and lecturer in 1998. Here she collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team on complex issues in the context of sustainable development in both a scientific and an advisory role. Her main interest and expertise lies in policy processes for city labs focussed on (sustainable) innovation.  Next to her work at ICIS, Nicole is co-founder and owner of Pantopicon (www.pantopicon.be), a foresight and design studio in Antwerp (Belgium) and Toronto (Canada). Based on her skills and expertise, Nicole will support Julia in (leading) the practical roll-out and monitoring of the ENERGISE Living Labs and ensure a smooth translation of questions and findings across the science-policy interface throughout the project.
