All over the world, people are coming together for a brighter and cleaner future. With the help of a global advisory group, including ENERGISE Expert Panel member Sylvia Lorek and ENERGISE research team member Edina Vadovics, the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and One Earth are examining how the way we live our daily lives – our choices, habits and the context within which we live – have can have a positive effect on our planet, our communities and our wellbeing both now and in the future.

During the first phase of the work the project team is interested in finding more sustainable solutions to how we live, move, consume, eat, relax, connect with each other, and spend our time. Your work may be focused on food, mobility, housing, consumer goods, leisure – or you may bring them together in a sustainable lifestyles initiatives. They welcome these solutions in every form such as:

  • Initiatives
  • Experiments
  • Policies and instruments
  • Frameworks and ideas
  • Business models
  • Community projects
  • Arts and education programs
  • And more….

So, if you are involved in or know about a solution, please go to the project website and share through filling in the survey questionnaire: https://envisioninglifestyles.org/sustainable-lifestyles-questionnaire/

The project is also looking at alternative pathways and visions of sustainable lifestyles: the team is currently summarizing and analysing what visions are currently created as well as how they are being created. The case collection and vision analysis work will conclude with developing recommendations for the design of effective policies and instruments supporting pathways to the "1.5 degrees" climate change policy objective.
