ENERGISE Living Labs in 8 European countries

Between September and December 2018, the ENERGISE project team is engaged in rolling out living labs in 8 countries: Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK. You can read the brief ELL stories of each country below.

Living Labs are launched!

The ENERGISE team has now launched the Living Labs, which will involve approx. 320 households across Europe. This is a very exciting phase of the project and all ENERGISE members are really busy these days with organising Living Labs.

Press release: International ENERGISE team launches new online interactive dataset which maps over 1000 sustainable energy initiatives across Europe!

In response to the increasingly urgent climate change challenge, the European Commission is promoting several climate and energy targets with the goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and decarbonise the economy. However, the current pace and scale of change is insufficient to achieve the necessary sustainability transitions in the energy system.

Update on Work Package 6 (Policy Integration)

Work Package 6 (led by Kingston University, UK)  has recently submitted two deliverables based on data gathered by the ENERGISE team on state of the art of social science and humanities energy research and its integration with EU and member state energy policy-making.

ENERGISE Living Labs ready to go

Living Labs have gained traction as a form of experimentation to support sustainability transitions. Here, experimentation refers to inclusive, real-life initiatives designed to promote system innovation through social learning among a variety of partners, including researchers, citizens, business and policy makers.

Typologies of Sustainable Energy Consumption Initiatives - results

Work package 2 of ENERGISE is coming to its conclusion. A systematic criteria-guided classification of existing sustainable energy consumption initiatives (SECIs) from 30 European countries has made available the most comprehensive database of European sustainable energy consumption initiatives and subsequent development of typologies.

SHAPE ENERGY Sandpits February 2018

Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) organised 2 two-day sandpits (on February 8th-9th and on February 22nd-23rd, 2018), hosted at Valentino Castle (39, Viale Mattioli, Turin, Italy).
